Madeleines are simple small cakes originated from north east of France. This is a very easy recipe and does not take that long to prepare and even baked. Two wins in one.
I always wanted a Madeleine tin but didn’t think it was worth spending on. I managed to find this tin in Daiso for 2.80. Of course with such a bargain like that I had to purchased it.

Hey what a nice and easy recipe you’ve got there! I was meant to visit Daiso long time ago but last time I went to Chatswood I forgot it! how silly..thanks for telling me such great tin can be find there…def going this weekend !
Yay let me know how you go
Cute tin – I’ll have to get one of those too. How much cocoa did you use? It doesn’t seem to be in the ingredients.
Thanks so much Sarah, I forgot to type that in.
appreciate it
Think you’ve got the wrong recipe there…..where’s the cocoa?
Also, where are the bumps on your madeleines?
I forgot the cocoa, my bad on my end. I wish it was more bumps on my madeleines but it didn’t came out so well.
They look good, bumps or no bumps! I am also a sucker for new kitchen equipment, I have so many pans in my drawer that I haven’t used I now have to stop myself going into homewares stores!
Oh nic I got the same addiction it so bad .. keep me away from those stores
I love madeleines, especially chocolate madeleines. I love your gorgeous madeleine tin. I’ve never seen a circular one like that.
I am used to seeing the long rectangular ones so glad I found this one
Haha man you’re just tempting me to go to daiso! The tins look cool (although not very space efficient ahah!) Did they taste as delicious as they looked
? I had one before as a petit four and they were delicious!
No its not had to bake it three times. They are – I admit they lack the sweetness but this is what I prefer in general not very sweet desserts! Probably add more sugar if you have a sweet tooth
Thanks for posting this recipe I am always keen to try new recipes. I got into the habit of making Mr Fresh’s lunch and morning tea for work when our first bub came along and I was at home. Dumb I know! I’ve never made madelienes so am looking forward to trying them.
Oops madeleines..typo
I must make madeleines one day. Yours look divine
What a nice and simple recipe, thanks for sharing.
I had no idea about Daiso until now – and I was at Chatswood on Sunday! argh! Will be going as soon as possible…
These look lovely and delicious!
Love madeleines and that tin is amazing! A little hint… grease and FLOUR the tin lightly too, then the madeleines will come out easily.
flour them ! awesome thanks for the tip
I have a madeleine pan and now I know what I will make with it! This recipe!
I’ve never made madeleines but I think I’d like these…
Nice one, Julie. My kitchen drawers are threatening to collapse with the weight of all my kitchen gadgets, pans and trays but I think I’m going to have to find room for a madeleine pan as well. And then I’ll try your recipe. Hmmm – maybe I should just convert my garage into extra storage space?
Whoa!!! Chocolate madeleine madness!! Looks amazing! Recipe sounds super easy too!
They look fantastic, something I am yet to try and make.
