Upon seeing a spreets offer for a degustation “degustazione” at Omerta for $69. Echoes amongst twitter were heard and spreets offers were quickly brought. Atmosphere was quiet when we arrived but became noisy and buzzing over time. The service was quicky and prompt. With such fast service we managed to finished the dinner around 1.5 hours, pretty awesome for a desgustation!

Prosecco Wine, was very addictive! Forgot to asked who the maker was
.

To start off is the Stracciatella, white peach, tarragon. You really gotta mix this well all together to enjoy each part of flavours. Great mixture of creamy and a touch of sweet. In a way it give us a reminiscent of good old cheesy sticks.

Beef carpaccio, fig, radish, watercress. I believed it also had olive oil and vinaigrette. I am one of those people that still needs to get use to the idea of raw beef, I am slowly warming up to the idea and this dish definitely put me at ease. I can barely taste the rawness of the beef and is probably lovely to devour on a summers day.

Market fish, fregola and salmoriglio. The market fish ended up being swordfish, it was served with the cauliflower and pesto. The butter and lemon can be tasted throughout this dish and left us wanting more.

Gnocchi, brased veal in port, green olive. The gnocchi is very soft and veal melts in your mouth. If you are a reader of this blog you know I fully detest olives of all kinds. There was only one olive in this and I really like it in this dish. Perhaps I changed my love for olives now. This was the biggest highlight of the meal. It left us craving more and more throughout the whole dinner. I was highly depressed when I finished it, that I was even very close to lifting the plate and thinking of licking the plate clean!

Pork loin, parsnip, mustard plum. It was served with a crisp potato chip and greens beas. We deducted the mash was made out of parsnip. The best part of the dish was the mustard plum!

Watermelon granita, mint, lemon sorbet. Sadly we were hit with horrible lighting at this stage turning all our photos yellow so many attempts of photography made the poor granita and sorbet melted. Even melted it was light and refreshing and O-so delicious!

To finish off the dinner is the chocolate and hazel nut cremino. You need to mix it or either dig out each layer of this to enjoy this to the fullest. It was served with almond-typed biscuit and complements the cremino well.
Overall I enjoyed each dish on this degustation and the Gnocchi dish has started to haunt my nightsmares in a good way. I already been thinking about returning and will be making plans to revisit real soon!
We were (or more so me) sadly not full and quick stop at the Messina was made! Lucky it was just two doors down.

I decided on the pandan coconut and mango (front). I guess I can see why they are the best place for gelato in Sydney now
