Subsolo

We are off having a quick small dinner before we jet off for a sugar hit at the shangri la. To my dismay I realise this was in this entertainment book (sorry girls!)

Paprika Salt & Pepper Squid with Saffron Mayonnaise. My weakness is very salt and pepper related. The squid was cooked well but there wasn’t any taste of parika, salt or pepper. The saffron mayonnaise had to be used up vigorously to combat the blandness of the squid.

Patatas Bravas. Potatoes with a tomato-ish sauce, was a great dish itself and the sauce was a great pairing.

Cured Meat Deli Board with Jamon, Spanish Lomo, Salami, Chorizo, Olives, Mushrooms & Baguette. A great selection of cured meats. but..where was the salami?

The atmosphere around 6pm to 7pm was loud and buzzing with energy. By the time it hit 7:30pm the bar/restaurant was close to empty!

To further dismay, we requested a jug of sangria only to be told it can only be brought in a cocktail form in a glass no jugs. Incoming big massive gigantic sadface.

Bread and butter to start with.

Sangria. Not fond of red wine but I dont mind it with with sangria :)

Img_4242
Ensalada Miro – Garden salad with tuna, cheese, olives and our own dressing. Love the dressing in this salad!

Img_4243
Gambas al Ajillo – Garlic prawns. Only had 6 pieces of prawns :( . The prawns were nice but nothing stood out.

Img_4244
Setas a la Plancha -BBQ mushrooms, topped with red capsicum garlic and parsely salsa. Highly recommended dish

Img_4245
Pollo a la Plancha – BBQ chicken topped with paprika salsa. I like this one too and it was polished realy quick as well.

Img_4246
Calamares al Sol – Strips of Calamari, golden browned on the hot plate with special salsa. This was very chewy and the texture is a bit odd

Img_4248
Chorizo a la Plancha – BBQ spanish sausage. My favourite but you can’t go wrong with chorizo

Img_4249
Paella. I found this a bit bland. It was very crusty however (I remember in masterchef saying it was important to have a crust in Paella)

Img_4254
Churros with Chocolate and Dulce de leche. Lovely dulce de Lech :) . Shame they gave us 4 when we clearly stated we wanted six. I think they cook this too long as the churros were very crispy and bit hard to bite into.

Img_4255
Buffalo Milk Ice cream with fried pitas. The ice cream tasted very milky and a little sweetness. Also excuse my friend who likes to photobomb my food photos with peace signs =p

Very lovely service and overall yummy food. The lighting was very dim maybe good for a romantic setting ;) .
